Scarifications

Scarifications remove moss and thatch, allowing the grass freedom to grow well. This happens by allowing more light and air are to get to the leaves and roots of the grass. This process is carried out once a year, during the spring and autumn months.

On lawns where there is a large amount of moss, an additional heavy moss treatment before scarification and then over-seeding and top dressing can be required to fully renovate the grass.

Any moss or thatch that is removed is bagged and left for disposal by the customer. This is due to the high cost of commercial waste disposal. We can arrange to dispose of the moss and thatch, if requested, for an additional charge.
